Dictionaries
The first two sources here are both from very reputable academic (biomedical) institutions.
On-line Medical Dictionary (OMD): Gray Laboratory (UK)
Access any term found in the OMD search engine directly from this page by typing a term on the form below:
OMD is a searchable dictionary (with over 65,000 definitions) contains terms relating to biochemistry, cell biology, chemistry, medicine, molecular biology, physics, plant biology, radiobiology, science and technology. It includes: acronyms, jargon, theory, conventions, standards, institutions, projects, eponyms, history, in fact anything to do with medicine or science. Entries are cross-referenced to each other and to related resources elsewhere on the net. Created by Dr Graham Dark , Copyright Academic Medical Publishing & CancerWEB 1997-98.

BioTech's Life Science Dictionary: U. Texas (Austin)
This free resource was developed by BioTech's staff members and contributors and is still very much under construction. Currently, most of the 8300+ terms deal with biochemistry, biotechnology, botany, cell biology and genetics. We also have some terms relating to ecology, limnology, pharmacology, toxicology and medicine. Don't expect to find common or exotic animals here; there are far too many species to cover even a fraction in a resource like this. However, the dictionary included medically- and biotechnologically-relevant organisms such as bacteria, worms, fungi, and some plants.

MedicineNet Medical Dictionary
A more clinically-oriented dictionary. The main difficulty with this dictionary is that all the terms included were merely listed (rather than search-oriented) making it difficult to find the desired term once the database becomes very large. See also the companion
MedicineNet Pharmacy Index for more information about drugs.
RxList: The Internet Drug Store

BioTech's Acronymn Database
Acronyms for Chemistry and Spectroscopy
The data base, consists of more than 12,000 acronyms, with a bias towards acronyms used in chemistry or spectroscopy.
