"Freedom of Speech and Privacy" initiative launched

The  "Freedom of Speech and Privacy" site will serve as a vanguard of free speech and privacy worldwide.  A current focus is the documentation of the role of internet companies in aiding governments to develop technologies that will (1.) block the ability of the citizens to access defined sets of  information available in the internet, (2.) sharing information (e.g., email materials, chats, etc.) with government authorities, (3) create ID cards that can store the history and track the whereabouts of individual, and (4) other related technologies meant to intimidate or aid in the prosecution of individuals considered a threat to the state, and/or erode free expression and privacy of individuals.
