  • Cell-mediated Immunity (CMI, Cellular Immunity, TH1 Response): SFAF
    the immune response mediated by the TH1 subset of CD4 cells. Cell-mediated immunity is stimulated by the cytokines IL-2, IL-12 and gamma interferon, and carried out by cells including cytotoxic T-lymphocytes and macrophages. Contrast with humoral immunity.
  • Cell-mediated Immunity (CMI) JAMA
    The branch of the immune system in which the reaction to foreign material is performed by specific defense cells (ie, killer cells, macrophages and other white blood cells) rather than antibodies.
