Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS)JAMA A severe and sometimes fatal form of erythema multiforme that is characterized by conjunctivitis (eye inflammation) and often results in blindness, blistering and sloughing of the mucous membranes, Vincent's angina (trench mouth), and ulceration of the genitals and anus; other visceral organs may also be involved.
