the presence or absence of an organism in the blood.
Serostatus may be measured by the presence of antibodies against an organism
(antibody status) or by the presence of the organism itself (antigen status).
If antibodies or organisms are present, a person is said to be seropositive;
if not, they are said to be seronegative. See also Antibodies.
