Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor (RTI):SFAF
a drug that blocks retroviral
replication by interfering with the reverse transcriptase enzyme. RTI
drugs are not effective after a cell has already been infected. RTI drugs
include nucleoside analogs (e.g., AZT, ddI, 3TC, d4T) and non-nucleoside
reverse transcriptase inhibitors (e.g., nevirapine, delavirdine).
