  • Varicella- Zoster Virus (VZV, Human Herpesvirus 3): SFAF
    a herpesvirus that initially causes chickenpox (varicella), usually in children. VZV may lie dormant within the nerves for years and reactivate later to cause herpes zoster (shingles), especially in immunosuppressed individuals.
