DDC (Zalcitabine, Dideoxycytidine, HIVID):SFAF
a nucleoside analog
drug that inhibits HIV replication by interfering with the reverse transcriptase
enzyme. The drug is FDA-approved for the treatment of HIV disease; current
practice favors use in combinations. Adverse side effects may include
nausea, peripheral neuropathy, oral ulcers and pancreatitis.
