    (Also known as Stavudine and Zerit) d4T is a dideoxynucleoside pyrimidine analog (2'3'-didehydro-3'-deoxythymidine). Like other nucleoside analogs, d4T inhibits HIV replication by inducing premature viral DNA chain termination. d4T has been approved for patients with advanced HIV infection who are intolerant or fail to respond to other antiretroviral drugs.   • D4T (Stavudine, ZERIT): SFAF
    an antiviral nucleoside analog drug approved for the treatment of HIV disease. D4T inhibits the activity of the reverse transcriptase enzyme needed for HIV replication. Side effects include nausea, peripheral neuropathy and liver toxicity.
